Tech pages fall

Published on .

Computer advertising in U.S. tech and business publications dipped 1% in pages but grew 6% in dollars in the first quarter, according to Adscope Inc. That contrasts with a 10% gain in pages and 14% increase in revenues in last year's first quarter. "One might conclude that industry advertising activity has peaked for the time being," the Eugene, Ore., tracking service said. Among the big 3 publishers, Ziff-Davis Publishing Co. pages jumped 9%, International Data Group dropped nearly 5% and CMP Publications gain 5%.
