Tennis star Boris Becker sets up marketing firm

Published on .

MUNICH -- German tennis champion Boris Becker announced during the Duesseldorf World Team Cup that he has set up a company, Boris-BeckerMarketing, in order to market himself more formally.

Mr. Becker's former advisor and marketing manager, lawyer Axel Meyer-Wolden, died unexpectedly last August.

Mr. Becker, 30, did not reveal any details of his plans for BBM, but it is rumored his company may take over the marketing activities for the Davis Cup in Germany, currently handled by Deutsche Tennis Bund.
