MIAMI--MTV Latin America has signed an Internet distribution and content supply agreement with Terra Networks.

The Latin American pay-TV channel will jointly develop with Terra interactive features based on MTV programming, such as chats, e-mail, albumrecommendations, news and video galleries. The accord only covers Spanish-speaking markets in the Americas, including the U. S.

Terra, the Internet subsidiary of Spain's Telefonica, is an ISP and is currently rolling out a portal service. It has operations in Spain andBrazil, countries not included in the MTV deal.

For Latin American markets, the MTV-Terra interactive services will be based on the MTV show "Conexion", aired only in Spanish-language countries in the region.

Users of MTV's existing site for Latin America will be linked into the terra site when they click on the "Conexion" icon.

The U.S. market offerings will be based on programming such as "MTV en Telemundo" and MTV S, the U.S. digital signal. Terra will be launched soon in the U.S.

The MTV accord is another deal by Terra to bolster its content. The Internet company recently signed an accord with Disney's GO.com for a children's site.
