Texas Monthly trims staff

Texas Monthly said it was cutting 11 people from its staff--about 9% of the work force. The cutbacks include the shutdown of the Atlanta and San Francisco offices of its wholly owned ad rep firm, Mediatex. ``It's because of the price of paper,'' said Texas Monthly Publisher Michael Levy. Mediatex also handles rep sales for Chicago, Sky and Eating Well, which will now be handled by Mediatex sales in other cities, including Los Angeles and New York.
