Theglobe.com succeeds in second IPO attempt

Online community theglobe.com's initial public offering Nov. 13 rocketed to $87 from an opening price of $9. The stock, which had a high of $97, closed at $63.50. That beat previous Internet IPO leader Broadcast.com, which opened at $18 and closed at $62.75 July 17. Less than a month ago, theglobe.com had delayed an IPO because of market conditions.
