Matt Thornhill, founder of Martin Interactive, interactive unit of the Martin Agency, Richmond, Va., this week joined Cadmus Communications' Cadmus Interactive, Tucker, Ga., as president. At Cadmus, Mr. Thornhill will manage a staff of 40, compared to 11 at Martin Interactive. Cadmus Communications, a company with $400 million in revenues, has business interests in periodicals, graphic communications and direct marketing.
To succeed in interactive marketing, "you need to have the technical capability, you need creative and you need marketing. Cadmus has all three," Mr. Thornhill said. "I'm hoping to build something to compete with the Modems and Organics."
Mr. Thornhill spent nine years at Martin, founding the interactive unit in 1994. The company has yet to name a successor there.
