Time Inc. New Media and its interactive agency, Darwin Digital, New York, today March 9 launched a new type of Web advertising that allows real-time changes to be made to headlines running within banners. Called News on the Web, or NOW, the technology allows Time editors to instantly post banner headlines as news breaks, but can also extend to advertisers who may want to instantly post prices or specials. The banners will begin appearing on Yahoo! and Lycos later this month.
