Two of the nation's largest cable TV operators, Time Warner and Media One, are reportedly going to announce today the merging of their high-speed online access units. Time Warner Cable's Road Runner and Media One's Express would combine to offer customers high-speed access to the Internet through cable modems. Media One already owns 25% of Time Warner. A number of other cable operators led by Tele-Communications Inc. own a similar platform called @Home.
