The company's 1995 results were significantly affected by a $1.63 billion after-tax gain in the first quarter on the disposition of its cable television business.Income from continuing operations was $139.6 million in 1995, up from $121.6 million the previous year. Newspaper group operating profit, excluding restructuring program charges, increased 6.1% to $206.7 million. Revenues were level at $2.06 billion. Ad revenues for the group last year totalled $1.558 billion, down slightly from $1.564 billion in 1994.
