Tokyo Broadcasting System unveils interactive TV system

Published on .

Tokyo Broadcasting System has developed, in cooperation with the Internet consultancy Virtual Communications, a system that allows TV viewers to participate in a new game system. The new system makes use of unused radio and TV frequencies and the Internet.

That will allow, for instance, a bingo game to be simultaneously broadcast to 10,000 people. TBS' "Bitcast Broadcasting" may have advertising possibilities if companies provide free prizes for the games or become program sponsors.
