Top BBDO creatives launch Spanish shop; seek foreign link

MADRID--Former BBDO Worldwide senior creatives in Spain have launched a new agency called Senora Rushmore, which they say will join the country's elite of creative hot shops, including SCPF, now linked with J. Walter Thompson Co., Remo Asatsu, The Cathedral and El Sindicato, the last two linked to the Interpublic Group of Cos.

Senora Rushmore is open to an association with a multinational agency network but is not considering selling more than 10% stake at present.

The agency's founders are Miguel Garcia Vizcaino, former executive creative director at Tiempo BBDO; Marta Rico, creative director at BBDO; and Roberto Lara, former managing director at the agency. The three executives are well-known in the Spanish industry for their highly-acclaimed work for PepsiCo, Renault's Clio marque and telecoms company Retevision.

With a 10-strong team, the agency expects to garner an estimated $3 million in business in its first year. The agency's first client has been one of the country's most established soccer clubs, Atletico de Madrid, which, after a considerably successful run in recent years,has now been relegated to the second division. "One year in hell" is the campaign's tongue-in-cheek tagline.
