Gary Topolewski, formerly executive creative director at TBWA/Chiat/Day, Los Angeles, and once touted briefly as the successor to Chairman Lee Clow, has left for Doner, Southfield, Mich., where he will become executive creative director.

John DeCerchio, chief creative officer at Doner, said Mr. Topolewski, who worked on the DaimlerChrysler's Jeep account at FCB Worldwide, Detroit, a unit of True North Communications, will not be working on Doner's Mazda account. Mr. Topolewski in April 2000 announced he was joining McCann-Erickson, San Francisco, as lead creative on the Microsoft business but within days of starting work there he accepted the TBWA/Chiat/Day job. -- Alice Z.
