Tortorici joins Telemundo

Peter Tortorici, former president of CBS Entertainment, has been named president-CEO of the Spanish-language Telemundo Network. The announcement was made by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Liberty Media, the companies that officially took control of Telemundo yesterday. Joining Mr. Tortorici on the senior management team are Nely Galen, president-entertainment; Alan Sokol, chief operating officer; and Rachel Wells, exec VP-marketing. All will be based in Miami. A 10-year veteran at Sony, Ms. Wells was most recently senior VP-international marketing for Columbia Tri-Star International Television. Mr. Tortorici's most recent post was executive producer at Carsey-Warner Productions.
