TOYOTA HEARS PITCHES FROM SHOPS FOR AFRICAN-AMERICAN REVIEW

(Aug. 8, 2001) -- Toyota Motor Sales USA's Toyota Division, Torrance, Calif., has already heard initial presentations from four of the six contenders in the review for its first African-American agency of record. Once all the agencies have made their pitches, the marketer expects to cut the list to two finalists. Publicis Groupe's Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles, the incument, will keep Toyota's mass-market ad account. -- Jean Halliday
