Trash TV takes hit

In TV and radio spots beginning Friday, William Bennett and Sens. Joseph Lieberman (D-Conn.) and Sam Nunn (D-Ga.), call on marketers to withdraw advertising dollars from "Ricki Lake," "Sally Jessy Raphael" and some other talk shows. At a press conference, Mr. Bennett read a letter from Mars Inc., which indicated that it was already dropping ads from controversial shows. David Braun, VP for Kraft Foods division of Philip Morris, said the company has dropped advertising from seven talk shows.
