Four travel sites team for research

Microsoft's Expedia.com, Preview Travel, Travelocity and the Internet Travel Network said they would co-sponsor the 1998 Travel eCommerce Survey, to be conducted by research company PhoCusWright, Sherman, Conn. The study will be a random-sample telephone survey of U.S. adults that will result in qualitative and quantitative data on the usage of online Internet travel services.

In other travel news, The Time Inc. Research Center and E-Travel announced an agreement to develop a Web site that will give business travelers real-time travel information by delivering information to their desktops. The site will be rolled out in phases.
