Triarc restaurants CEO resigns

Roland C. Smith resigned as president-CEO of Triarc Co.'s Triarc Restaurant Group, which franchises Arby's, T.J. Cinnamon's and Pasta Connection outlets. He will be succeeded by an Office of the CEO, which will report to Peter May, president-chief operating officer of New York-based Triarc Co., until a replacement is found. Five senior VPs will form the office: Curtis S. Gimson (general counsel), Michael C. Howe (operations), Kenneth L. Johnston (business development), Kenneth A. Thomas (chief financial officer) and John T.A. Vanderslice (new concepts).
