Published on .

Tribune Co., Chicago, has agreed to acquire Renaissance Communications Corp., owner of six TV stations, for $1.13 billion in cash. The transaction, subject to government approval, would make Tribune, with 10 stations currently, the nation's largest TV group in terms of national household coverage with 33.4%, the company said. It will own and operate stations in eight of the top 11 markets. Renaissance stations in Dallas and Miami are WB Network affiliates; those in Sacramento, Calif.; Indianapolis; Hartford, Conn; and Harrisburg, Pa. are affiliated with the Fox Network.
