Tribune increases WB share

Published on .

Chicago-based Tribune Co. cemented its already strong ties to the WB TV network by investing $12 million to acquire a 12.5% share. Tribune Broadcasting Exec VP Dennis FitzSimons said the company sees the investment as "an opportunity to participate as WB appreciates in value." The WB (Warner Bros.) network will add Sunday night programming this fall to complement its Wednesday night programming. WB also is adding morning children's programming.
