Tribune invests in CD-ROM publisher

Tribune Co. has invested in Lightspan Partnership, a company that develops and markets interactive multimedia to schools. The curriculum uses CD-ROMs to teach reading and math and is designed to be used at home. The company was founded in 1993 by John Kernan, who had been CEO of Jostens Learning Corp., another provider of educational software.
