Tribune invests in digital TV network

Tribune Co. is the lead investor in iBlast Networks, a network that will aggregate broadcasters' digital TV content. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. The Los Angeles-based iBlast will Webcast video and other digital content to consumers via personal computers and other devices. The service, set to launch in 2001, so far has accumulated content from 134 TV stations in 102 markets. Other investors in the company include Cox Communications, Gannett and the New York Times Co.
