(May 24, 2001) -- Tricon Global Restaurants posted improved same-store sales for its three fast-food chains for the four-week period ended May 19.

Pizza Hut recorded a 6% boost in stores open at least a year, KFC had a 4% increase and Taco Bell showed a 1% increase. The company said 1% of the growth was due to the timing of the Easter holiday, which fell in the earlier period the year before. -- Kate MacArthur
