Tricon tests triple-brand units

Published on .

Tricon Global Restaurants, Louisville, Ky., said it opened its first prototype for a triple-branded restaurant, linking its KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut concepts under one roof. The unit, in Dallas, will be targeted to markets that can't support a single concept, the company said. Tricon currently has 200 Taco Bell/KFC combination units. Marketing plans for the new unit could not be determined at deadline.
