True North acquires KSL

True North Diversified Cos. announced the acquisition of KSL Media, the second-largest independent media management company in the U.S. KSL plans and purchases more than $500 million in media annually; the agency has offices in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. "Along with TN Media, which has been a market leader since the 1980s, we have added strength to strength [with the acquisition of KSL] and increased the critical mass of our buying power,'' said Valentine J. Zammit, president-CEO of the True North diversified group, a unit of True North Communications, Chicago. KSL will remain an independent operating unit of True North Diversified Cos.
