True North's BSMG unit buys Asian, U.K. PR agencies

NEW YORK--BSMG Worldwide, the public relations network of True North Communications, said it acquired Scotchbrook Communications Group in Asia and U.K.-based Lyons Waddell in separate transactions. Terms were not disclosed. Scotchbrook, with offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, specializes in business, financial and corporate communications. BSMG said 1999 revenue was approximately $3.4 million. Lyons Waddell was described as a specialist consumer public relations agency. BSMG said founder Jane Lyons and 10 Lyons Waddell staff members have joined BSMG's London office.
