ISTANBUL -- Next month Turkey will mount an international advertising campaign celebrating the 75th anniversary of the country being declared a republic on October 29.

The Turkish State Department awarded the account after a pitch to Istanbul-based Lowe Adam, an affiliate of Lowe Group, in February.

Nesteren Davutoglu, general manager of Lowe Adam, hinted that the campaign will run on international TV channels like CNN International and newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times.

Although the $2 million budget is modest, Turkish media is giving the campaign free time and space worth $40 million.
