Turkey's first digital TV initiative chooses agency

ISTANBUL--Turkey's first digital television broadcast initiative, Dijital Platform, has appointed Statu Reklam Hizmetleri A.S., Istanbul after a pitch. Dijital Platform is a joint venture between Dogan Holding and Cukurova Holding.

Founded in 1988, Statu is an independent agency with 1998 billings of $47.5 million. The agency plans to do an IPO next year, according to the founding partners, Kemal Gurkaynak and Burak Duruman.

The shop handles local and international clients such as F&B Otomotiv/Smart-Dodge Durango, Florence Nightingale Hospital, Hesser Collage, K International, Paksoy/Kanola, Voss Varinak and White Westinghouse.

Dogan Holding is a leading Turkish media group, including TV stations, national dailies and numerous magazines. Cukurova Holding is a conglomerate with operations in many industries, mainly in finance.
