Turner appoints European head for CNN Interactive

LONDON--Turner Broadcasting System Europe has appointed Paul Maglione to the newly created post of senior VP-commercial director for CNN's Web properties in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Maglione is based in London and will report to Nan Richards, president of news networks, TBS Europe; and Jeff Kupsky, senior VP-businessdevelopment, TBS Europe.

Mr. Maglione will oversee the commercial activity for the expansion of CNN's new-media properties in the region. He will also be involved in the strategic development of CNN Interactive's Web sites in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to his new appointment, Mr. Maglione was senior VP-CNN marketing and hotel sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He joined Turner Broadcasting in 1996 from NBC Europe, where he was marketing director.
