Turner links with Children's TV

Published on .

Ted Turner's Cartoon Network is teaming with public TV's Children's Television Workshop to produce "BIG BAG," a one-hour, weekly commercial-free pre-school program that will begin airing on the cable network in May 1996. The project is Turner's first venture with CTW and CTW's first pre-school programming project since the inception of public TV's "Sesame Street." Jim Henson Productions is working closely with CTW to create a new Muppet character specifically for the show. Cartoon Network will air "BIG BAG" as part of a planned two-hour, weekend pre-school block.
