Turner's Spiv site offers movie news

Published on .

Turner Network Television, Atlanta, and its online site Spiv launched daily multimedia movie news shorts that appear both on Spiv's site and on Turner's "Rough Cut" news reports that air before its film presentations. While TV "Rough Cut" spots are 60-second and 90-second showings, "Rough Cut" on Spiv is more extensive and is designed to appeal to 15- to 24-year-olds.

America Online is also attempting to appeal to this demographic with its new entertainment channel The Hub, which it launched with New Line Television last month. Many deals negotiated for The Hub were made on an if-come basis, meaning that if enough traffic comes to a particular program it could be launched on TV.
