TW Cable asks delay

Published on .

Time Warner Cable has asked the Federal Communications Commission for an emergency stay of its Cable Bureau's order that would force the Time Warner cable systems in Manhattan and Staten Island to carry New Jersey's WMBC-TV beginning next month. Time Warner said the decision "carries the must-carry provisions to an absurdity," arguing that the station does not serve the New York market. TW Cable said it would have to drop the International Channel in Manhattan and the Travel Channel in Staten Island to take on the New Jersey outlet.
