New U.K. government supports European tobacco ad ban

A Europewide ban on tobacco advertising is expected following the U.K. Labour Party's May 1 election victory. in which the new won by the government won by a landslide.The Labour Party has publicly committed itself to outlawing tobacco advertising in the U.K., where it's now only banned on TV, It's and is also believed to support the European Union's Tobacco Advertising Directive, which would ban tobacco advertising in the EU. The enactment of The directive had been blocked by opposition from the German, Dutch and British governments.
