U.K.'s 24/7 goes to Finland

HELSINKI--24/7 Europe, a U.K. online ad sales companies, is expanding its European network of online sales companies in Finland.

24/7 Suomi will provide online advertising, sponsorship, e-commerce and direct marketing opportunities, combining the global reach of 24/7 Europe, 24/7 Media Inc. and 24/7 Asia with locally tailored solutions.

24/7 Europe has wholly owned operations in 12 European countries.

Pertti Hakala, currently head of new media at Finnish agency Datum OMD and former area sales manager for online marketer Net Value, will head up 24/7 Suomi.

Other key appointments include Annette Saarinen as sales director and Satu Yrjnen as senior account manager. Both join from DoubleClick Finland. Merja Enroos, previously at Umbrella Communications, will become marketing and communications manager.

Mr. Hakala said: "With growth expected to reach 100% to 150% annually in Finland, this is a great time to be involved in the industry's development. "

24/7 currently represents over 300 Web sites, including 100 European sites, and delivers over 2 billion ad impressions globally per month.

24/7 estimates the European online advertising market will be worth about $485 million this year, rising to $1.65 billion by 2001 and $5 billion by 2004.
