U.S. Army opens account review

The U.S. Army, facing continuing problems meeting its recruiting goals, announced plans to rebid its estimated $130 million-a-year advertising contract, which had been held for the last 12 years by Y&R Advertising, New York. Army officials said they are considering splitting the account up. The Army said it has asked Y&R to bid for the new contract. Jones-Lundin Associates, Chicago, is the consultant.
