U.S. search engine Ask Jeeves awards $16m U.K. launch task to Euro RSCG

LONDON--Ask Jeeves has appointed Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper, London, to handle the $16 million launch campaign of its consumer online question-and-answer service. The U.S. company has appointed Mediapolis to handle media buying and planning.

Founded in 1996 by David Warthen, the search engine aims to provide a more "human approach" to scouring the Net. The service features the unflappable English butler from the P.G. Wodehouse novels, who invites users to ask questions instead of typing in key words.
