Unilever creates e-communication manager post in France

Published on .

PARIS--Packaged-goods giant Unilever has appointed Pascale Chabert, its marketing manager in France, to the newly created post of e-communication manager.

Ms. Chabert will coordinate French Internet advertising and interactive TV operations for the conglomerate's various brands, including Sun dishwasher soap, Lipton iced tea drinks and Miko ice creams.

Many of the brands already operate Internet sites as part of their advertising strategies, leaving open the possibility that a Unilever portal site may be created to assemble them into a coherent group.

The new post reflects Unilever's belief that the Internet is becoming a major tool in both mass marketing and one-to-one communication with consumers, the company says.
