Unilever won't cut ads

Unilever Chairman Sir Michael Perry indicated Monday that Unilever will not follow Procter & Gamble's example and cut ad spending in Europe. P&G's decision to cut back on advertising, apparently to meet new marketing cost cutting measures demanded by P&G's headquarters in Cincinnati, is not an issue for Unilever as Unilever's ad levels are lower, Mr. Perry told reporters in London.
