United goes underground in London

Published on .

London Underground has unveiled the first subway train in the U.K. to carry a complete advertising livery--the blue, gray and red colors of United Airlines--on its exterior. The 350-foot-long "mobile billboard" is part of a multimedia ad campaign in support of United's launch of its new Boeing 777 aircraft on the London-Washington route. United also plans to take every advertising spot inside the train. The exterior ad says: "Isn't it time you traveled in comfort?" The message appears on every coach of the train, which runs on the Picadilly Line between central London and Heathrow. It was created by TDI of New York and United's ad agency, Leo Burnett Co.
