Universal McCann to open office in Moscow

Published on .

Universal McCann, the media arm of McCann-Erickson Worldwide, has hired Greg Paine, managing director of its Polish office, to launch a fully-fledged media agency in Russia. Currently, McCann's media planning consists of a department within the main agency's Moscow office.

His successor, effective January, is Zygmunt Brzozowski, currently Universal McCann's deputy managing director in Warsaw.

Although Mr. Paine did not give a specific date for when Universal McCann would start operating in Russia, he mentioned that efforts would be made for the startup to happen quickly.

Mr. Paine has been working in Poland for three years and headed McCann-Erickson's media department until September 1999, when it broke off to form Universal McCann.
