LONDON -- In a bid to bolster its management team for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Universal McCann, the media arm of McCann-Erickson Worldwide, has created three new executive posts.

Brian Jacobs, previously managing director of Carat International, joins Universal Europe as executive vice president in head of worldwide accounts.

Kay McCarthy, currently strategic planning director of McCann-Erickson Worldwide, Dublin, joins as strategic planning director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Ms. McCarthy will work alongside Jim Kite, Universal McCann global research director.

Chris Shaw, currently chairman of Universal McCann U.K. and Ireland Group, will take on the management of new pan-regional divisions within Universal as executive vice president, director of Universal Interactive and Programming for the regions. -- Ali Qassim
