ReplayTV and Universal Pictures will partner to deliver the first interactive advertising through a personal TV service. The one-year deal means Universal, Universal City, Calif., will promote its movies, plus other content and brand messages, via the ReplayTV service. Universal plans to deliver traditional TV spots, produced in-house, and other exclusive promotional content to Replay consumers. Replay, Mountain View, which launched its service nationally in May, expects to announce several more ad deals with marketers in the next month, according to Michael Teicher, senior VP-advertising sales for Replay. ReplayTV allows TV watchers to replay, rewind, fast-forward, frame advance and watch in slow motion their favorite live sports events and TV shows.
