Updated car sites pay off

Car dealers that update their Web sites on a daily basis sell more cars than dealers who do less frequent updates, according to survey findings released today by the National Automobile Dealers Association, a Washington-based trade group. Dealers with daily site updates averaged sales of 7.2 vehicles per month vs. average monthly sales of 4.2 vehicles for dealers that updated their sites once a year. NADA also reports the number of auto dealers operating Web pages increased by 8% in the past year--or 61% of all new car and truck dealers. A year ago, only 53% of dealers had Web pages.
