Upromise picks McCann; names marketing chief

Upromise, the new relationship marketing venture headed by Digitas founder Michael Bronner, named McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York, agency of record for its $30 million branding campaign. Brookline, Mass.-based Upromise, which is expected to launch a marketer-supported higher education rewards program later this year, also announced it has hired Judy Fearing as chief marketing officer. She comes to Upromise from Walt Disney Co., where she was exec VP for interactive businesses. Hill, Holliday, Boston, and Y&R Advertising, New York, were the other contenders in Upromise's agency search, handled by Pile & Co., Boston.
