United Parcel Service on Wednesday will announce the next phase of its Internet marketing plan, including co-marketing deals with Yahoo!, Lycos and Infoseek. The deals are part of an aggressive plan by UPS to expand its Internet package tracking and delivery assistance services. UPS has trailed rival Federal Express Corp. in most Internet-based innovations, such as package tracking and Web shipping. The online portion of UPS' plan will be followed later this year by a traditional media campaign by Ammirati Puris Lintas, New York.
