UPS teams with search services

United Parcel Service said it has entered into strategic alliances with search services Yahoo!, Infoseek Corp. and Lycos, as expected. The services will feature custom UPS content areas that let Web surfers trace packages by tracking code, find the nearest UPS package center or download software from those areas. UPS called reports it will spend $12 million on Web efforts in 1997 speculation, but said technology will continue to be a theme of the company's traditional ad message, handled by Ammirati Puris Lintas, New York.
