USA Network, unveiling a new lineup of shows to debut in January, said it will air some nine and a half hours of original prime time programming per week, up from the current seven hours. Rod Perth, president, USA Networks Entertainment, said it would debut shows in January and June rather than September, the traditional month for TV networks. "We're trying to expand prime time by starting it at 7 p.m.[ET]," he added. Among the new shows: "Lost on Earth," a situation comedy produced by Quincy Jones-David Salzman Entertainment, a co-venture with Time Warner; and "Claude's Crib," a situation comedy starring comedian Claude Brooks.
