USA Network, Starcom say no deal

Published on .

USA Networks and Leo Burnett Co.'s Starcom Media Services denied a report in the May 11 Advertising Age that they had struck an upfront ad deal valued at up to $35 million. John Silvestri, exec VP-ad sales for USA Networks, said in a statement the cable company is "in negotiations with Starcom and many other buyers in the marketplace" but that no deal has been cut. He also said the budget and cost increases reported in the story were "completely off the mark."
