USDA to audit Cotton Inc., milk processors program

Published on .

The U.S. Department of Agriculture will launch a review of oversight of the promotion boards in its Agricultural Marketing Services division, including Cotton Inc. and the National Fluid Milk Processors Education Program. Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman asked Undersecretary Michael V. Dunn to conduct an independent review after a Washington Post story Nov. 25 charging lax oversight by USDA led to questionable travel and entertainment expenses at the cotton promoter.
