USWeb and CKS near merger

The Securities & Exchange Commission gave USWeb Corp. and CKS Group the green light to merge. The companies are now waiting stockholder approval. Each are mailing proxy statements to respective stockholders during the week of Nov. 23, 1998, and planning stockholder meetings on Dec. 16.

The company also said the name ``USWeb/CKS'' would be used until a name is officially chosen. It will not use the name ``Reinvent Communications,'' a name first tentatively chosen for the combined agencies
