Published on .

Sempra Energy, San Diego, the holding company for Southern California Gas Co. and San Diego Gas & Electric, said it awarded its first African-American marketing account to Muse Codero Chen & Partners, Los Angeles. Muse will launch a campaign in early 1999 targeted toward business and residential consumers. Spending was not disclosed. Goldberg Moser O'Neill, San Francisco, is Sempra's general agency. The company recently delayed the start of its general advertising campaign due to pending voter initiatives on the California ballot this fall.
